Hi. I think applied maths is much easier now with the reduced/changed syllabus. I appeared in 2018 with applied maths and stats. I am not saying I had a great exam or that it was easy but it was certainly doable.

For beginners I would suggest the following:

1) integration and differentiation should be on your tips
2) I went for the following topics:
i) Mechanics
ii) ODEs
iii) Numerical methods
3) I prepared only these topics and was able to attempt 5 questions in the exam. Remember there are no mcqs in applied maths.
