A summary was prepared for restructuring of FIA. It was proposed that about 2900 new posts will be added in the existing strength of FIA in three phases over three fiscal years i.e. 2018 to 2019, 2019 to 2020 and 2020 to 2021. The existing strength of FIA is about 4100. There were almost 750 posts vacant in the existing strength. The media persons have a penchant for beaking news without understanding and analysing the facts. Thus they spread the news of 3800 posts. How can 3800 posts be vacant out of existing 4100 posts? The summary was not approved by the outgoing Government. Now let us see what would be the priorities of the next Government. About 650 posts (BS-1 to BS-15) out of the vacant posts in existing strength have alrready been advertised in February, 2018 through OTS. Now the posts in BS-16 and above are going to be filled through FPSC. There is a difference between vacant posts and the new posts which have yet to be sanctioned by Government.
