1: "Sir Syed Ahmad Khan was in no way pro-British." Agree or disagree, answer with arguments.

In nitty-gritty, sir syed is no way pro-British but a reformist who was sagacious enough to realize that there was no sign of British evacation from the subcontinent and they were here to rule. Thereby, it is a wise by sir syed to pursue friendly relations with rulers of the time and politically and economically educate Muslims for future. For that he he formulate a tirad know as sir syyed's trinity of ideas:
  1. Aloofness from Politics
  2. Dedication to Education
  3. Loyalty to the Britain

2:"It was over-reaction of Hindus to the partition of the Bengal in 1905 that widened the gulf between Muslims and Hindus". Comment

Hindus reaction to partition of Bengal revealed Hindu prejudice toward Muslims. A simple adminstrative decision become matter of matricide. This firece reaction of Hindus taught Muslims they had to struggle for their socio econmic and political rights exclusively on the permises of Muslims nationalism.
