Ramsha you are right

The correct expression would be

The lake froze quickly (where "froze" is an "unergative verb"... other examples of an unergative verb may be "melted" and "collapsed")

So the expression "The candle melted quickly" and "The barn collapsed quickly" are also right

To express the opposite of these sentences it's advised to use "halfway" (in the case of unergative verbs)

i.e. The lake froze halfway, The candle melted halfway etc.

Hope it helps, this is to the best of my knowledge still .... Angraizi is a strange language
