There was a time when Japanese also had a joint family system like ours where grand-parents and other relatives lived together. They had complete faith in one another and they brought-up their children in an affectionate environment wherein not only self-confidence but also positivity was inculcated in their attitudes. They used to resolve their problems and sufferings with the co-operation of near and dear. It provided sense of security among them. As the nation progressed, time became a precious element. The society went in abysmal as the western norms infiltrated it.
