Default COVID-19: a biological warfare?

(2) COVID-19: a biological warfare?

Amidst the COVID-19 crisis, social media is abuzz will all sorts of conspiracy theories that emergence of Coronavirus is presumably a biological attack. We are living in an era in which dissemination of information is proverbially as fast the speed of light. As the social media is unregulated, spreading of rumours is just one click away from us. Hence, once a fake news is making rounds in the social media space, its negation and simultaneously convincing masses regarding the fabrication of stories is an uphill task. Undoubtedly, biological weapons are deadlier in magnitude and indiscernible. Hence, COVID-19 is attributed to biological warfare. Many media outlets, whose credibility is questionable, have reported it as a biological attack by state actors to advance geo-political and economic interests. This claim, nevertheless, remains unsubstantiated thus far. In this high-tech and advanced era, there is hardly a chance that in case it was a biological attack would remain a mystery. Even if we assume it as a biological attack, then it may be the job of developed states. But, developed states will hardly do indulge in any such irresponsible job that may put themselves in jeopardy. For instance, any attack or aggressive behavior carries a risk of tit-for-tat. It can be translated as aggressor may have to face a massive retaliation with biological attacks resulting in disproportionate damage to economy, life and reputation. Therefore, there is hardly a chance of biological attack and especially when almost every state of the planet earth is badly affected by monster COVID-19. Exchange of such words between rival states is merely a rhetoric and part of pressure tactics.
