From my experience of CSS 2020, I believe sociology triumphs in this group of optional subjects.
Having no background, not a single spec, I found sociology highly intriguing, very informative and an intellectually attractive choice. Personally, I was quite satisfied/confident after reading just two books on sociology.
Pros:
- Easy ideas/terms demanded by the syllabus.
- Common sense can surrender to questions as per past exam papers.
- Almost everyone (Pakistani) can debate on Pakistan's society/social/population problems.
- Can be a cram subject.
- Immense information at your disposal online.
Cons:
- The many theories are vulnerable to be mixed and owe to one's memory hold and understanding.
- Requires a different mindset of answering:
- Use of its own terminology in answering (to satisfy examiner)
Anyone else to add/remove my points? In all honesty, sociology was the only exam that I enjoyed writing for back in February.
