Samaa Tv program “Wardaat” had aired a reenactment of a crime story on July 22, 2015 in which vulgar text message, from a boy to a girl, was shown clearly in its original form. It was not only against our culture, customs, and religious values but also a violation of PEMRA rules and codes of conduct, imposed by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
After no response from Samaa TV management, the case was referred to Council of Complaints, Karachi. The Council of Complaints held its meeting on January 14, 2016 and has approved the penalty of Rs1 million after finding the opinion of the TV channel and viewing the program video.

The council had also decided to suspend the license of Samaa TV in case of future violations and ordered the circular be issues to all TV channels to not show such indecent content lie Samaa TV did.
