Yeah. You get passing marks i.e. 40/100 for grammar and syntax structure. Scoring above is relevance, organisation, quotes etc. You may also be awarded the same if majority of people have attempted the essay and your information or grasp of subject is relatively same as others. Since "imagination" essay was attempted by many this year, most people with good essay writing might still end up at 40. Others who have attempted any topic other than it, did not have good facts, strayed from the topic but wrote fine grammar are likely to score higher.
