Dear,
There is no post of Deputy Commissioner in Punjab, but the powers of DCOs are too much regarding district managment, dco can also instruct all departments include police, except Federal Departments and Banks. The few powers of DCO what i know i.e.
  • Chairman of District appointment commitee from BS-01 to BS-14, except few post like Assistant, Naib Tehsildar, Stenographer in Revenue Department.
  • Transfer authority from BS-01 to 17 in District Level, except PMS servents but can recommend for transfer,
  • Chairman District Benevolent Fund,
  • District Road Transport Authority,
  • Chairman of District Government Schools, e.g. Divisional Public School, Grammar School.
  • etc.
