I have a good news for all of us ( Regarless of the fact that most of us here want to re-appear an improve our group :p )

The government of Pakistan has finally acceded to the demand of IMF regarding the creation of PRS, Pakistan Revenue Service. Which will encompass all the revenue collection in Pakistan.This means that Sales Tax and Federal excise would also come under Income Tax department ( much to the dismay of C & E group ) . Customs and Excise group has also agreed to these changes but are contemplating new means by which the group can increase their seats in other departments. For example it was recently announced that two seats for Customs group were being created in many embassies in order to facilitate the bussiness comunity, the list goes on.

This was decided in a meeting of Customs officials held yesterday in Lahore.

These changes would once again bring Income Tax group into lime light and we may see this group climb up rapidly in aspirants preference forms.
