@sadia zahid
well as frm ur post its clear that u dont knw which math is easier so it means u have no knwoledge abt it.....look my first suggestion to u is dont go for maths whether its pure or applied....the diff b/w pure math and applied math is only of applications that in applied maths there are applications like in physics, engineering etc....if you are good in math and if u have studied it in ur degree course then go for it, its scoring....as far as i knw that u are frm business admn side so i think u have not a grip on that subject so i suggest u that select any other subject as an optional...by the way for mathematical method u can refer following books
1)calculus by yusuf sm 2)mathematical method by yusuf sm.

if u are still unclear then read the following words by one of the csp, he has disscussed abt pure math but i would say that same case is there for applied maths moreover the ball is in ur court.

I also hold BS Hon's degree in CS and have excellent knowledge of Mathematics coupled with excellent grades but i would like to suggest you not to opt Pure Mathematics. I don't mean to under estimate your credibility but Pure Mathematics requires more time to prepare as compared to other subjects. In subjects like pure mathematics, by the day end you may come up with flying colours or probably have to face something untoward. Therefore, choose subjects like Computer Science, History, Journalsim, Socialogy, Punjabi, etc so that you may equally allocate time to each subject.

Before choosing even a single subject, keep the following points in your point.

The amount of time you are left with.
The nature of subject
Estimated time required to cover the syllabus
Past papers
Your aptitude, higly important
Your past knowledge about the subject
Past Datesheet, most people don't consider Date sheet but it's important too
Availability of material and support pertaining to that specific subject

Remember, CSS is not just about passion and dreams, it's about attitude and realistic approach. Prudently consider each subject and then decide what to choose or not. Most people choose some subject e.g. XYZ and then by the day end they come accross the reality.

Therefore, i would suggest you to consider atleast the stipulated points before you step forward to embark upon CSS preparation.

God bless u.
regards.
