Don’t quote wrong figures. Whenever you quote any figure which is not an exact figure try to present it in a diplomatic way like: approximately, around, near about, nearly, more or less, in the range of, in the bucket of, roughly, etc.
Facts and figures are your positive points but make sure that your are not an statistical officer neither you are a scientist. Your essay should not look like an statistical research paper or a thesis. Including more figures in essay may compel you to compromise on the quality and charm of the essay. Keep your essay attractive, easy to understand, reader friendly and interesting. So long as your essay maintains its charm and attraction for the reader you can afford facts and figures.
It is better to be handy with major figures and avoid minute details.
