Wow, I am not trying to criticize you but did you really ask the question for other people's opinion or did you just wanted to defend your point of view of including lots of facts and figures? :P

Anyhow, this is what I feel. The paper checker should be an english teacher most probably and even if he has alot of interest in current affairs, history or any other field pertinent to the essay he is checking, what are the odds of him remembering the exact figures? probably very small. Therefore it doesnt really matter whether you quote exact figures or not.

One point of concern for me is that the exact figures are usually accompanied by the source of information like according to WHO, OSHA etc. etc. and unless you quote the reference, I dont think its a good idea to mention exact figures. Therefore I concur Raz.
