well bro!! u will get 100 diff opinions here but the thing is that u have to decide ur priorities in life first and make your own decision...u cant really know anything unless u r really into it...

If u have to support a family..that is ur the earning person then in my opinion DO NOT join civil services...coz ur first objective then is to earn a gud living for ur family and falling from 50k to 25k doesnt seem much appealing..and u wont worthy status if ur family would b suffering

And if u dont have to support a family.. have other income resources then do join civil services..as for status and prestige

But at the end as i said the decision should be yours... set ur priorities first/...
