26 promoted to the rank of SSP

The Departmental Promotion Board (DPB) has promoted 26 superintendents of police (BPS-18) to the rank of SSP (BPS-19), sources in the Establishment Division told ‘The News’ here on Sunday.
A meeting of the DPB in this regard was held in the Establishment Division, which was chaired by Establishment Secretary Chaudhry Abdur Rauf, while all provincial chief secretaries and inspector generals of police attended the meeting as its members.
The DPB discussed the cases of promotion of the BPS-18 officers of Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), District Management Group (DMG) and Office Management Group (OMG). As many as 26 PSP officers were promoted from SP (BPS-18) to the rank of SSP (BPS-19) who have completed all necessary requirements of promotion, including MCMC (Mid-Career Management Course) and satisfactory Performance Evaluation Report (PER), sources said.
The promoted officers include Tariq Nawaz Malik, (who have served for many years with the UN Mission and had returned the previous year and working with the Punjab Police), Mohammad Ismaeel Rind (police officer from Sindh Police), Imran Mehmood (presently serving as chief security police officer with the Prime Minister of Pakistan), Syed Khurram Ali (serving with the Punjab Police), Shahid Javed (community welfare counsellor in Muscat), Fayyaz Ahmad, Mohammad Saleem Akhtar and Muhammad Zubair Dareshak (serving with the Punjab Police), Ashfaq Ahmad Khan (AIG (establishment) in the National Highways and Motorway Police), Dr. Inam Wahid Khan (sector commander in the NH&MP), Mobarik Zeb (SP coordination, Peshawar), Sarfaraz Ahmad Falki, Mohammad Waqas Nazir (former DPO, Pakpattan), Munir Ahmad Zia Rao, Muhammad Kashif Mushtaq Kanjoo, Naeem Ahmad Shaikh (Sindh Police), Shahzad Akbar, Captain (r) Sajjad Hassan Khan Manj, Waqaruddin Syed (KP), Mohammad Ehsen Younas and Babar Bakht Qureshi (the DPB cleared both the officers from their involvement in Sri Lankan cricket team attack case considering the incident as closed), Abdur Rab, Tanvir Ahmad Tahir, Dr. Haider Ashraf (SP VVIP security, Lahore), Tayyab Hafiz Cheema (AIG training, Lahore) and Javed Soonharoo Jaskani (AIG Establishment, Sindh Police, Karachi).
Sources said that the DPB recommended 55 officers of OMG and 15 DMG officers for promotion.
