Dear Siraj,

I'm really sorry if my subject title is being irritative. Dear Siraj, the person who advised you about the importance of English is 100% right.

Dear Siraj, to do CSS you don't need to have any tuitions or teachers at all. All you need is your own efforts. CSS is not an elementary or secondary examination for which you need teachers. You've grown up for sure, what you actually need to work out on, is a perfect strategy. However, in the end you can have some guidance from the teachers but not TEACHINGS (Mark it).

I'll guide you through some ways to improve your English. The results will totally depend upon your dedication of time and concentration.

As you live in Karachi, you'll improve fast because of the advanced and civilized environment you get there (how unlucky I am for belonging to a town ). All you need from the environment of Karachi is a fine exposure (I mean company of good educated and literate people). This will develop some kind of confidence in you. Always try to speak english no matter wrong or right. Nobody is already-learnt before coming in this world. Practice makes a man perfect.

I believe, the difference between us and the learnt is the difference of time they've passed studying. The more time we study the more we learn. So give up a major portion of your time on studying. Specifically, for English, I will suggest you to read the Dawn Newspaper (editorials and opinions are a must). It will be a two-pronged help. One: Your English will be improved. Two: You'll be acquainted with Current Affairs (A compulsory Subject). People say, good readers are good writers. So read as much as you can. Once you get some grip over reading. Try reproducing stuff in your own language. To be simple and clear, read a topic a few times and understand it well. When you get it all, try to write it on a paper. This will give you a good writing practice, meanwhile, your vocabulary will be improved which is too important also. But this must be your strategy when you get some grip over reading.

This is all I can suggest you for your English. A book named "Exploring the World of English" - by Saadat Ali Shah can be helpful!

Always read quality matter! Don't waste time on useless things! CSS is not doing Ph.D. Its just qualifying the exam!

Best of Luck!

Regards,
Adil Memon
