in no 5 i.e The master said, "How long will you take in warming my food".

The master inquired of me how long i would take in warming his food.

As the object is not mention in reporting speech i.e master said to whom...the correction seems in correct to me

as per rule of 2nd person in reported speech will change according to object of reporting speech... dont know kya theak rhy ga...

The master inquired how long he/she/I would take in warming his food.

if the object is not mention in reporting speech then how we change 2nd person in reporting speech while converting into indirect narration...
if nybody clear the point i'll b much thankful to him/her..

(2) "Where do you want to be dropped?" said the taxi driver.
2. the taxi driver inquired of me where i wanted to be dropped.

(5) He said, "I banged on Cliffs door but he did not answer".
5. he said that he had banged on cliffs door but he had not answered.

(6) "Where is the boat? Hurry up we are being chased", she cried.

6. she asked in a loud voice where the boat was and ordered them to hurry up as they were being achased
again same is the case with 1 and 2 i.e the object of sentence is not mention in reporting speech....

n 5 and 6 seems okie....
