1).TOTAL AREA REPORTED:-The total physical area of the villages/deh, tehsils r districts etc.

2).FOREST AREA:-The area of any land administered as forest under any legal enactment dealing with forest. Any cultivated area which may exist within such forests is shown under heading cultivated area.

3).AREA NOT AVAILABLE FOR CULTIVATION:-The uncultivated area of the farm which is under farm homesteads, farm roads and other connected purposes and not available for cultivation.

4).CULTURABLE WASTE:-The uncultivated area which is fit for cultivation but was not cropped under the year of reference nor in the year before that.

5).CURRENT FALLOW/ploughed but un-cropped:-Area which is vacant during the year under reference but was sown at least once during the previous year.

6).CULTIVATED AREA:-Area which was sown at least during the year under reference or the previous year.

Cultivated Area= Net Area Sown+ Current Fallow

7).NET AREA SOWN:-Areas which is sown at least once (Kharif and Rabi) the year under reference.

8).TOTAL CROPPED AREA:-The aggregate area of crops raised in a farm during the year under reference including the area under fruit trees.
