The Gestalt laws are definitely relevant as perception is basically how we make sense of information that we receive through the sense organs of the body and obviously, the way objects are organized will have an effect on our perception.

I’m doubtful about the relevancy of the top-down and bottom-up processing theories though, because they’re pretty much an explanation for the “HOW” of the perception process, rather than what determines the way we perceive objects.

Same difference as what something is made up of and how it works does that make sense?
