Q:2- When and how was the revelation (Wahi) started? Explain also the reality of Wahi?

Wahi is the source through which Allah communicates his guidance to the mankind. There are innumerable secretes related to man's life and universe around him for which human tendencies can never help him to divulge them. When man looks around him and on his own being a number of questions arise in his mind. He tries to ponder who am I? Who is my creator? Why has I been created? What is the purpose of my life? Is there any other world after death? Am I a responsible being? What my Creator wants from me? How could I come to know His will and injunctions? What is right and what is wrong? What is the proper way of living a life? To know the answer of these and many other likewise questions is the fundamental need of every man. When a man comes to believe that he has been assigned with a responsibility by his creator that is to worship Him and to Obey Him, it becomes obvious to find out His injunctions and will, Because obedience is done to injunctions. So, man becomes curious to know that what is the will of his Creator. He becomes anxious to know the will of His creator. Without knowing the answer of these fundamental questions, one can not take even a single step on the path of submission. So, it is pertinent to ask as to what may be the source to discern these realities..

Importance of these fundamental questions has been apparent from the above discussion. We can make it still more clear by saying that, to know these things is as important for man as food and water for his survival. Question arises that what may be the source of having such knowledge. Lets see first of all how much man's own capabilities can help him in this regard.

@Senses..
Senses are the first and foremost source by which humans come to know about world around them. They provide us with the window through which we can perceive our surroundings. Question is whether these sources are capable enough to provide us the answer of these fundamental questions? the answer is no? Through these sources we can just perceive the material things. They can no way help us in understanding these metaphysical realities. Senses are helpless in this regard. We can prove this truth by an example. Say for instance, we are not able to see the world with closed eyes, nor any other sense can play the function of eyes. similarly, ears are limited in their function as they could only hear the voice. In short, we can say that senses are limited in their approach. So, with such limited abilities they can never help in knowing those things which existed beyond our life domain. The shortcoming of senses in this regard is beyond any doubt.

@Wisdom..
Human wisdom has helped him a lot to find out effective ways for existence on this globe. In fact, it is his wisdom which distinguishes man from other beings. But, by the matter of fact, wisdom too does not provide us any help in knowing about such realities whose relationship is with man's soul. wisdom just corroborates the veracity of such things that they exist, but does not possess credentials to provide answer or solutions of such problems. It is dependent on senses. Wisdom just enables us to interpret whatever our senses can perceive. And we know that senses can perceive only the material objects. So, this second source is also not much better that the first one. We are unable to know the will of our Creator by using our intellectual capacities. Nevertheless, When man tries to find out the answer of such questions through his wisdom, it is known as philosophy. It is man's own interpretation of life and an attempt to distinguish wrong from right. But, undoubtedly, this is no way a solution of problem as shortcomings of man's reasoning are beyond doubt.

@Intuition..
Another source of knowing the injunctions of Allah is man's own intuition and will power. But this source also is not much better than others. The most vigorous efforts of self-effacement cannot help to attain this objective. One cannot see His injunctions and will reflect in the mirror of one's heart, irrespective of how much pure it is. If a mirror has to reflect anything, it is not enough that it should be clean and glossy. It is also equally necessary that what is to be reflected should be close and expose to it. Until and unless Allah Himself communicates His will and injunction, no one can determine them regardless of the purification of his heart. No one has claimed that Allah has devised this system for communicating His injunctions and will. So, it is abundantly clear that intuition too is not capable of knowing the answer of fundametal questions. It is also as helpless in this regard as senses and wisdom.

@Revelation (Wahi)
It stands established that all tendencies of man cannot help him in knowing the purpose of his creation. Allah has created man for His worship and obedience, so it is beyond His justice and Mercy to devoid man of these fundamental needs. He did not delay even a day. He established the institution of prophethood to provide man with guidance of right and wrong. Allah taught His prophets all His will and injunctions through 'Wahi'. It is the only source of knowledge through which man can know the answer of those fundamental questions which are anyhow beyond his approach to know about through his own abilities. Wahi is sent only on prophets and they alone have been the ultimate source through which men could know the truth of life and will of Creator. This is why to have faith in the prophethood is vital. In the absence of prophethood we would even fail to know Allah and afterlife, what to say of Divine guidance. In the view of this need, Allah has sent His prophets to every nation for communicating His message. It is written in Holy Quran:

And there is not a nation but a warner hath passed among them (35:24)
'And verily We have raised in every nation a messenger, (proclaiming): Serve Allah and shun false gods ' (16:36).

It is clear that Allah has communicated His messages to every nation through Wahi which he revealed upon his pious and esteemed people(prophets). It is also abundantly clear that Wahi is the only source of acquiring the knowledge of Allah's will. Man cannot live a life according to the desire of his Creator if he does not have belief in 'Wahi'.. The only source of finding out the answers of all fundamental questions is wahi. Man's prosperity in this world and salvation in the Hereafter depend on following the path which his creator has provide him. If one deviates from that path, he will make a hash of his life. And that path of guidance and obedience has been shown to us by Allah almighty through revelations.

From above discussion it is abundantly clear that man has only one source of knowing the will of his Creator and that is wahi. It is also plainly understandable that Allah has bestowed every nation with guidance through this source. From Adam a.s till Muhammad s.a.w, a chain of prophethood was established for the guidance of mankind. Now that chain has been ceased, and the guidance has been completed upon last Prophet s.a.w. Now the only source of guidance is Islam. Allah has abrogated all previous religions. No other religion is acceptable to Allah. This claim is not a freak of faith, but the human wisdom also corroborates the veracity of this assertion. If we carefully examine the practical form of submission for which man is created, we will come to know that all previous guidance will not suffice the need of this submission to Allah. Previous religions which, undoubtedly, had come in the form of 'wahi' have been vanished or adulterated by their followers. Now, the Islam is the only religion which has all injunctions in preserved form for living the life according to the will of Allah. Now, no guidance will come in the form of 'wahi', therefore it is vital for humans to understand that what is the purpose of their life and where they could get the answer of fundamental questions from. There is, indeed, the Creator of this universe and He has created this awesome system for a specific purpose. Human just need to contemplate around them and then try to find out the answer of questions which are related to their well-being in this world and hereafter.
