Default Preparatory Guide for SBOTS and YPIP



Graduate Employment Test-Finance Sector (GET-FS)

The test conducted by NTS .Candidate must have to qualify the GET-FS test to make themselves eligible for SBOTS program and SBP-BSC (YPIP), separately.

1. Eligibility Criteria:

Qualification/Education : Master’s Degree or Bachelor Degree with 16 years of education (with atleast 60% marks where percentage system applies or equivalent CGPA where GPA system applies) in Business / Public Administration, Business Economics, Economics, Statistics, Commerce, Mathematics, Computer Science/ Information Technology from a HEC recognized university.

Maximum Age Limit: 28 Years (age relaxation is not acceptable).


2. Test Pattern:

The test comprises upon MCQ’s type Questions having three Section/parts. Each question carries one mark and there is no negative marking. The weightage of marks is shown against each Section.

Section-I
English (40 Marks)

Focus on – Comprehension, Sentence correction and Completion, Analogies, Direction/Indirect, Analogies, Antonyms, Inference, Assumption, Support/Weakens, Analytical Reasoning.


Section-II
Analytical Reasoning/Simple Arithmetic
(30 Marks)

Focus on- Mean, Mode, Average, Percentage, Probability, Words problem, Tank problems , ratio & proportion, permutation/combination, simple interest ,loss/profit, simple equations, under root, square root, series problems Basic Algebra and Geometry concepts.


Section-III
General Knowledge/IQ/ Current Affairs (30 Marks)

Focus on –Inventions, abbreviations, Science, IT, sports, finance, social, political, Literature, history environmental and geographical related fact and figures, terms and issues etc.

3. Techniques to attempt/solve the paper within time :-

Test time is reasonable if you use smart techniques to solve the questions. Answering questions directly may not work always. Do use odd man out technique; you can proceed from options for the solution. Discard the most irrelevant options and then decide about the suitable option if you don't have exact idea of the question. In most of the questions reverse process for solution of the MCQs is effective.

Practice is best way to score 100%.

Cut-off Criteria

The cut off criteria is different for all tests and varies time to time. It depends upon many factors including the number of candidates appeared and their performance. Quota allocation would also be taken into consideration by SBP .No deliberate injustice is being done to candidates of any province. For SBOTS 17th batch the cut-off was 70 and for 16th batch it was 50.

Now this year for SBOTS-18 cut-off is criteria is following:

Verbal: More or Equal to 65% Marks
Quant: More or Equal to 65 % Marks
GK/IQ: More or Equal to 65 % Marks
Aggregate: More or Equal to 75 Marks



Applications for the post of Assistant Director (OG-2)

After the GET-FS result announcement by NTS, candidates shall apply for post of Assistant Director (OG-2) for State Bank Officials’ Training Scheme (SBOTS) and for SBP-BSC (YPIP).


Eligibility Criteria:

Only those candidates can apply for the position of Assistant Director (OG-2) for State Bank Officials’ Training Scheme (SBOTS) and for SBP-BSC (YPIP) meet the cut-off criteria decided by the SBP, subjected to fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria as per advertisement.

Application form:

The application form for the purpose will be available at the Bank’s website www.sbp.org.pk or can be obtained free of cost from SBP-BSC Field Offices across the country.

Documents Required:-

1. Duly filled in application form
2. GET-FS result sheet issued by NTS /printed from website with attestation
3. Attested copies of all educational documents,
4. CNIC
5. Domicile
6. Three passport size photographs


Group Discussion


Only those Candidates make themselves eligible to get shortlisted based on the merit list of GET_FS and available number of seats would be invited for Group discussion.

For GD Candidates should have to revise basic terms and concepts related to finance, statistics, banking, and e-commence along with their practical usage. Candidates should also make themselves familiars with existing, newly launched, amended, proposed and under consideration policies by SBP, ratio of mark-up, newly launched technology with regard to banking sectors.

Final selection depends on the marks obtained in the NTS test (GET-FS ), Comprehension writing, Group Discussion and Interview(s) in order of merit.
