"Temporary" term is used for those jobs which will be continued/confirmed as permanent jobs after successful completion of probationary period subject to satisfactory performance. After confirmation in the job as permanent employee you will be entitled to all the perks/privileges/incentives/schemes which a permanent employee enjoys in normal course of business.

"Contract" word is used for those jobs which are intended to be for any specific time period/specific project/assignment/task. Such jobs are not supposed to be continued/confirmed/permanent after completion of contract period/project. However; in certain exceptional cases, these contracts are extended or renewed for some additional tenure but these jobs still remain contractual. Contractual employees do not enjoy regular perks and privileges/allowances which a permanent employee enjoys. Apparently, in most of the cases monetized current salary of contractual employees is on higher side than the regular permanent employees due to the fact that contractual employees are not allowed other benefits like pensions, medical, gratuity, insurance in certain cases. As contractual employees are deprived from such incentives/entitlements hence organizations compensate them in terms of rise in current take home salary.

Regards.
