1- Is selective study possible and safe for Geography? If yes, please suggest me which ones? Or tell me how I can shortlist the topics? I am analysing past papers but need help.
2- It'd be really great if any senior can guide about the best, yet one, book for each paper of geography. I have gone through like almost all the thhreads on the forum and there is this plethora of books mentioned. I seriously need help over this. Please suggest me one book for each of the two papers.

Thank you in anticipation
1- Selective study is safe and sufficient for Geography papers with some exceptions . you must be judicious while selecting the topics. It all depends on your taking the topic. So, It's better that you note down the topics with probabilityin this way:

i) Highest probability:

Topics must be covered in the begging.Look at the past 20 years paper of Geography. Mark the topic which is most repeated topic as the Highest chances to come in paper... the question which is repeated 7+ times has better chances to be asked again...

ii)High probability:

Apply same method and look at the question that repeated less 4 to 7 times.

iii)Low probability:

These are usually those topics which are repeated less than 4 times.

iv) very low probability:

These are to be covered in the end when you have an extra time... These are usually those topics which are asked in previous paper or those topics which you yourself think are important

SOME EXCEPTIONS:

It rarely happens that paper becomes out of trend and preparation that we make while looking at past papers: Papers of 1999 and 2010 seem to be tough and out of repetition. it only contained a few topics which were doable. To tackle this, one must go though some extra topics which seem to be important...

2-

For paper 1, one book can be refereed as it is related to science but for paper 2: You have to study minimum three books as it has a long syllabus. However, any local book can cover the topics for paper 2 but it can't be called a good book...

Book for paper 1

Physical Geography by strauler/ BAJWA ( for both papers)
FOR PAPER 2

Commercial Geography by Mian Anwar, Geography of South Asia by bushra
