Exclamation Why become a CSS Officer? Is it really worth it?

Greetings! There have been a lot of discussions and posts on the perks and privileges of a CSS Officers. Okay. I also found a few on authority, nuisance and devolution powers. Yet, there were others on how they can serve the country.
However, it goes without saying that CSS Officers have always been working under the shadow of selfish and corrupt politicians, and as such have been used to do all the dirty chores that politicians wouldn't want to fall into. This has also brought CSS Officers notoriety and disrespect.
Now, the point is, if a CSS Officer can do nothing by his own, when he is subject to political or military interference all the time, is it really worth it to become a CSS Officer? Do we just want to show the public to our office and make them feel like we have some real power and authority (which in fact we do not) or are we in it for corruption and all the dirty deeds for which we will have to answer some day? As for money or other privileges, we all know one can be better off in the corporate sector. Then, why, why, why become a CSS Officer when the bureaucracy will always be influenced by the military or politicians?
