Pol science is difficult, no doubt it covers C. Law but what about Essay and CA?? where IR's importance is indispensable. No one ignore IR in new CA syllabus contents anD as the essay's trend is being followed, IR really helps. Additionally, I law can be opted which has always remained a very high scoring and related to IR.
Being an Irian medalist, I will strongly recommend you people to opt IR nd go with it due to its additional help.
Feel free to get guidance/assistance in IR.

Make a following combination and be the trend setter:

IR
I. Law
Punjabi or Sindhi or Baluchi
Governace nd Public policy
Gender Studies/ Indopak Hist/ Islamic Hist/ zoology

Rgds,
Fully agreed with you sir.the only difference which i want to make here is suggestion of another subject i.e, British History in place of Muslim / IndoPak History. If you go through the syllabus of BH you will find the very same stuff like colonialism, British foreign policy, UNO, Laege of Nations, Cold wars,WWI and WW2 etc.so my take here will be as under
1.International Relations (200)
2.International Law (100)
3.British History (100)
(Don't afraid of wars you will find a lot here)
4.Governance and Public policy (100)
5.Regional Language(Punjabi, Pashto, Balochi, Sindhi)(100)
For book suggestions
i would suggest following books
1.International Relations by Palmer and Perkins(Rs.300 price of pirated copy)
OR
Understanding International relations by chris, you can download its soft copy from the following link
http://www.google.com.pk/url?sa=t&rc...55JINemObGkvjw
And for South Asia
Politics of nuclear war in south Asia by Bhumitra Chakma(fpsc suggested)
NOTE
as a student of international relations you can not afford to limit yourself to the books materials only ,you must keep yourself updated with the latest developments in the world through TV, Dawn newspaper, websites of institute of strategic studies Islamabad(http://issi.org.pk/), diplomat magazine(http://thediplomat.com/)
Wikipedia and Google for miscellaneous search
Regards
