I get your rationalization argument but how are you referring it with proverb, Angoor khatte hain?
Anyhow, i suffer the same. In fact, i have now stopped talking in my home except replying to their questions in simple yes or no or to the point answer.
But the problem is that one cannot stay entirely aloof from one's family since one is related with them since birth time and then sometimes one do shares a light moment and then the time comes when i start sounding nonsense to them.
But its ok, because at the end i know that i am right. Lekin kabhi kabhi bhand maar bhi deta hoon
Yours sincerely
