That's good. Political Science, Constitutional Law, History of India and Pakistan, Public Administration and Gender Studies are the best optional subjects for you. These are just six books and one set of notes that cover these subjects. If you haven't studied English Literature at graduation level, how did you get admission to MA English? Those who have studied History, Arabic and Islamiat at graduation level are not eligible for admission to MA English as a regular student. They can do MA English but as private candidate.

Contemporary Affairs by Dr Qaiser Rashid
Daily Dawn (Editorials and Columns)
Read the above books for compulsory subjects and I guarantee that you will, if God wills, pass with flying colours in the compulsory papers.
