For Gk, consult Jahangir and Caravan publishers' latest Encyclopedia or Bhatti's Everlatest GK.
For EDS, study Rab Nawaz Samo's Book(be very selective).
For Islamiat compulsory as well as optional, Farkhanda Noor's book is enough alongwith Prof. Khurshid's Islam: Its meaning and message.
and Ikram Rabbani's Pak Affairs or I.H. Qureshi's Stuggle for Pakistan for pak Affairs compulsory.
Mazhar-ul-Haq's or K.Ali's Islamic history is in trend.

No idea about Urdu and C. Law. Not my thing.
Cheers

DETAILED SYLLABUS OF (PCS) OPTIONAL SUBJECTS BPSC

42. Public Administration:
Legal and institutional setting, principles of organization. International management and central, personal management, fiscal management, Planning, special problems in administration.

Dear Senior/s! Can you help me understand what is meant by "legal and Institutional setting"?
I tried a lot to simplify this but couldn't succeed.
I just what to know what type of things could come in this part of the syllabus.
