Dear A R M,
As per my perception, General Recruitment Tests/Other Competitive Exams can easily be tackled by those already engaged with the study of CSS/PMS etc. But it is not difficult task for those who are not in touch with CSS/PMS stuff. FPSC describes syllabus for certain posts and the aspirants prepare for the exam accordingly. General Knowledge, Islamiat and Pak Studies are not new to graduate and masters degree holders, for preparation of exams of general recruitment or departmental. You can explore the sub-forums of Intelligence Bureau and FIA where the seniors have mentioned/suggested books for MCQs Exam of FPSC and these book are like WHO is WHO, MCQs of GK & Islamiat. Moreover, you can also find MCQs of previous exams compiled by aspirants. As mentioned above, the books suggested by FPSC do not contain the laws, acts regulating the civil service and conduct of federal government such as Rules of Business, Civil Servant Act etc. For this purpose, if you want hard copy of such laws, you can buy good books with interpretation/explanation from any law book shop. Regards,

Syllabus Changed
I think the syllabus for the post of Section officer is now changed. According to new syllabus there is no descriptive part and there will only MCQs.?? Am I right or still the descriptive part is there? The revised syllabus shows no descriptive part for section officer.
