Dear All,
I had joined Mcdonalds back in 2012 and being working there for almost 2 years, here i have some suggestions for you people

Pros:
You will learn good management skills
People handling skils and communication skills
Good Systems
Provident fund
Medical coverage for parents
2 bonuses in year depending on performance but normal some thing other than performance works

Cons:
Rotating shifts( 9 hours each shift, 5am-2pm, 1pm-10pm and 5:30pm-2:30am)
Physical Type of Work, we cant say its a white colar job
Limited Career as most of the fast food hired people from trainee level, so no chances for better opportunity
Low salary packages in hospitality industry even though Mcdonald is highest paying employer in industry.
good for people with 14 years of education but not for those who have more than this.
After completion of training you will be promoted as 2nd assistant Manager and your Salary will be of 25k but there would hell responsibility on you
no respect at all, you will be scolded infront of your sub ordinates even in front of customer, we can say you will be mishandled by customers and management too.
No gazetted holidays such as Eid, have been adjusted later on
Seniors believe themselves as Don, your success depends on how you have contacts with your boss.
Salary growth is poor
Pressure is of hell on you
Salary doesn't justify workload
year bond

I have left McDonald in this august and during this period almost 4-5 managers have resigned due to poor working environment, they have high turnover for managers who have joined McDonald as Trainee Managers. Mostly now they are promoting managers from crew level who are not much educated and for them its a good opportunity. Its not the job for master level person.

Best of luck for your future, i hope so my post will help you people

Well,Thanks for the detailed discussion.I really appreciate that.Despite all of these,if the McDonalds is such a high paying employer in the industry why don't they take care of their employees who are highly qualified and well deserving?

WEll dear
They dont have requirement of high education, they clearly mentionef bachelors degree.
Definately support department require people with high educations and its a good thing to have job in mcdonalds headoffice for those who are well qualified but this is a restaurant based job and total concern of its to mantain cleanliness, service and quality standards by hook or crook, it doesnt involve any thought process

Well due to more supply and less demand freshers want to just enter the firm but its my suggestion to please make decision after doing lots of research because your first job defines career.

Its high payer but i have clearly mentioned that salary scales in this industry are quite low, so its highest would be equal to lowest of many industries

no i would suggest never go there. i resigned mc donlds in the same year due to un ethical behaviour, leg pulling, poor salary package , no respect, you feel like you are their slave full time. its like you holding master degree and appointed as sweeper manager.

Well for girls

my suggestion is no....shift timings totally depends on restaurant manager....

practically i observed worst conditions for female manager

we had a female manager who also resigned this year..... she had to come at 4am which is almost a midnight in winters so to make restaurant open for breakfast.... even company didnt offer any transport facility,,,,its even worst time for male too but in case of females its horrible.....

Also no respect at all...even an unbearable pressure made her to leave McDonald....

Some good points for female are as this job would make her confident and strong as it involves people handling..

shift timings are as following

5am-2pm( this shift normally ends at 5pm due to shortage of managers and mostly assigned to female managers)
9am-6pm ( the best shift but after launching breakfast it becomes almost obsolete for managers, may female trainee managers would be assigned to this shift for some time in training)
1pm-10pm (some what better shift but social life totally cuts down)
5:30pm-2:30am ( normally ends at 5:am as you cannot leave without completing lengthy closing procedures)

These shift timings are not for 24hours restaurants, that might be different

Mcdonalds employees have a common wording that our life is M to M means

Mcdonalds to manji (no social life at all)

Well,I came to know a lot about them by going through this forum.

Well I've been selected as management trainee at McDonalds. They've called me to complete my hiring documentation in order to start my job.
I wonder if anyone (who worked as management trainee there) could help me out regarding that matter.I'm so confused!Should i join McDonalds or not?
The thing is I'm an electrical engineer and completed my degree just 3 months ago.I'm already waiting for penalty of interviews in some public sector organization after qualifying their test, which makes me so confused.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
