I just appeared in a 9:30 interview in Lahore. The most pointless interview i have ever been in. The 2 people sitting in front of me had no idea about my credentials and didn't even bother to take my degrees from my hand and see my majors to ask pertinent questions.
Q. 1 Introduce Yourself.
Q. 2 Detailed question about occupation of my parents.
Q. 3 Are you willing to relocate and where? (The only question they were really interested in.) Some candidates were asked just this question and interview finished.

The middle management staff was nice and supporting but the panel were not asking relevant questions. Obviously they had their own instructions.

Best of luck to all appearing In Lahore.

@ambreen nasir

even i don't know why they did not ask any accounting/finance question from me. maybe because when he asked me to introduce myself i told them my CGPA and about my JAIBP distinctions etc. and they thought its enough. but thats just speculation.
A candidate who went in before me had good GPA as well and they directly asked about relocation and city.. after that and his families introduction his interview also ended. so i guess it was not just me they are doing this to all.

The selection criteria set by the HR department varies according to the polices / management of the organization. Some organizations give more weightage to the test and some give more consideration to interview. There is no hard and fast rule of taking interview. Interview may be structured or unstructured, again depends upon the polices / philosophy of management.

ABL is taking unstructured interview and it is not necessary to ask questions related to finance or academic specialization. May be the selection criteria set by ABL is more focused on the academic carrier (CGPA or % age), test or willingness of the candidate to relocate anywhere. So dont worry about the interview, HR people know better that what they need to check in the candidates.
