OG-1 is cash management focused, whereas MTO's job scope is richer; you could go into credit, trade finance so on and so forth. Salary levels are I think same, so now its up to you.

Thank you. Trouble starts when the second priority leaps earlier to the first one. Leaving an opportunity is easy but finding a job is a hell difficult task. Pretty good candidates missed out on OG-2 posts in their interviews :( Do you also have another opportunity in line except askari's MTO?

I have done an internship at SBP Lahore. And the scope of the job of OG-1 is not just cash management. I was in the Issue division myself which deals with currency management. There was only one OG-1 officer there, rest were from OG-2 to og-4. In the previous records/indents, remittance officers for both coins and cash have been OG-2s . Same is the case as of now. Rather I saw a greater no. of OG-1s in DFD, Trade, PAU and DAU. They were the ones who gave us orientations.

After every 3 years they change your dept, or even earlier per your desire if you are able to satisfy them. There are 12 departments, various divisions and units. The environment is much diverse than any commercial bank but the major hurdle is their speed at the administration side.

The irony is that SBP selection criteria is beyond the comprehension of most of the people here. Many people having good degrees and even experience lost the chance. Most of the people would be in a fix who have qualified the test because of the saturation of the job market.
Even for the internship call, the Lahore office took about one and a half months despite the fact that they had told the universities (from Lahore only) to recommend toppers from very few disciplines that they had stated. That would have made a very small list as compared to the list of candidates they have been short listing from Jan 12.

No. Except that I'll be applying for HMB MTO program as well, deadline of which is 28th February, if I'm not wrong.

Habib metropolitan? Is that the one you're talking about? I will apply for that too. However, threads here are saying that they don't hire females. I wish if we could have some senior official from there.

Naureen A Thursday, February 19, 2015 03:48 PM

Yes, that's the one. I heard Bank Al-habib does not hire females, haven't heard any such thing about HMB nor have seen any on concerned thread(s) here. Sure you're not mixing BAH and HMB?

Thank you for rectifying the mistake. :) I have seen the ad and will apply there as well. Best of luck and may you get employed soon.
It has been a year I am looking for jobs. I started job hunting in my last year at university. My sent emails folder is filled with dozens of emails to organizations and cover letters. Even having 4 specializations in my own subject and 1 in a related discipline, I am no where in the job market. Even my university holds a background of 150 years, (privatized some years back)I have lost all hope already. Referring to my previous posts, you can see my academic record and the marks I could be able to manage.

I have seen a candidate with good degrees and even better work experience losing the chance at OG-2, despite scoring 77 marks. How hopeless is that!

Well, all I could say is don't compare yourself with others. Its one thing to be emphatic and realistic, its quite another to lose your confidence on the basis of what is happening or has happened with others, gonna take you no where. Being so disappointed is just going to mess with your head and nothing good will come out of it. Trust me. Just be calm and CONFIDENT and they will have no reason to reject you. InshaALLAH.

Thank you Noreen. Do you have any idea what sort of questions are asked in SBP interview?

kuchnakuch Tuesday, February 24, 2015 04:48 PM

Interview....

Guys keep to the related topic rather than disscusing SBP :P, so my MTO interview went very well, no need of tension for the candidates who have yet to appear. They just asked me about personal life, background, interests etc (No academic related question).....i guess they would be asked in 2nd interview if we qualified.
BTW my interview was on 23 Feb, at Islamabad.
