Default BOK-MTO Test 2011

Can anybody solve?

1-The cost of first 500 prints is $10, while after it, cost for each is (10-x/50). What will be X, if the total cost is $75?

2-In 2009, Ali read 10 English and 7 French books. In 2010, his ratio of English buks is 3times french buks and he read 60% of french books in 2010 then how many books he read in 2010?

3-Salma spent 1/10 of her income on clothes, 1/10 of the remaining on food, and 1/3 of the remaining on rental. if she left with Rs. 648 what is her total income?

In 2009, Ali read English books = 10 French Books = 7

In 2010, He read English Books = x French Books = 3 x

So in 2010 the number of French Books ALi read was 3x and the total number of books was 17 + 4x. Then 60% or 3/5 = 3x/ 17+ 4x

Cross multiply we get x = 17.

Therefore, x= 17 and 3x = 3(17) = 51

So in 2010 he read 68 Books (17 English and 51 French).

Let the income be x. Then 1/10 or 0.1 of the income will be spent on clothes so x-0.1x. The remainder is 0.90x. 1/10 of the remainder (0.9x) is 0.09x which was spent on food. So the remainder is 0.90x-0.09x = 0.81x. 1/3 of 0.81x = 0.27x which was spent on rental. So the equation becomes;

1x - 0.1x - 0.09x - 0.27x = 648

0.54x = 648

x= 648/0.54 = 1200

So the total income in Rs. 1200.

Default Do it Simple Dear

648x33.33/66.67 plus the answar to 648
then answar x10/90 plus the answar 1 with two
then answar2 x10/90 and then plus answar 3 with 2 and answar will be 1200

648 x 33.33/66.67 = 324 then 648+324=972
972 x 10/90 = 108 the 108+972= 1080
1080 x10/90 = 1200

1/10 means 10%
1/30 means 33.33%

we are going in revers mode there for the division ll be (100 - %age)
