I don't know where you have been living your whole life. This is Pakistan and 49,000 is in no way a moderate salary for starting a cashier job. Look around you at others working in banks.

The IBP might reply you tomorrow as the offices will be opened from tomorrow & if they don't then wait for the admit card (hard copy) which will be dispatched by tomorrow (mentioned in IBP webpage). Last, test will comprises of MCQ's as they have shared the sample paper in the IBP website which predicts that there will be objective test.

Dear be calm and cool, It is OG-1 cashier job. I think you are dreaming for OG-2 in state bank. Looking around at others working banks as a cashier(OG-3)
,there is salary round about Rs18000-25000 for cashier job. And another thing OG-1 is a junior rank in state bank, so compared to others banks Rs49000 is moderate salary for cashier job.

IBP has uploaded both lists of eligible and in-eligible candidates for test.

I think you are unaware of salary packages of SBP, it is the one of the institution which pays good as compared to other commercial banks. Even a driver of SBP has more salary then a cashier of commercial banks. If still confused visit SBP and you can ask their salaries.

Could you please tell me how many seats are for OG-1 for Sindh.
Will they allocate seats city-wise or Urban and rural wise..
From Hyderabad only 633 candidates are eligible for test..

No other govt/autonomous org offering Rs. 49,000/- to OG1s (BPS-16) at entry level in Pakistan. You are the lucky one if you are selected in this organization. At least your financial position will touch the heights! I must say it is not a moderate salary but an extra ordinary salary!

Ask some people who got selected in other govt organizations for BPS 17 scales jobs, I'm 100% sure their Initial salary is not more than Rs. 50,000 even some organizations offering Rs. 45,000 to Masters degree holders.

Secondly, this is not a cashier job. Don't compare OG1 of SBP with OG3 of commercial banks who are real cashiers. OG1 may be placed in any department of the bank including Cash Department but SBP's cash department working is not like Commerical Banks' cash side working. It's more than enough for BA/BSC/BCOM guys to be hired at Rs. 49,000 regardless of their departmental placement in the bank. You all should be very happy that you are hired on pure merit on this qualification with wonderful monetary Package which is more than a blessing in a country like Pakistan.

Wish you all the best for the bright future in this org!

Test Centers are allocated according to the choice given in the form/given postal address. It's not like if your center is Karachi then you must be competing with the Karachi people. Your final selection depends on the regional quota. Means if your domicile is of Urban Sindh, you must be competing with all those people belonging to urban Sindh as per their domicile.

Agreed. Even a messenger/Peon of SBP comes on Cultus/Coure :p
Dear members, plz. share your strategies to tackle G.K section of OG1 test? GK consists of current economic affairs, banking and Economy of Pakistan. Plz, share which areas should be covered and which topics fall under these subjects? which terms and definitions should be studied and where from we can get this material? working officers of sbp are appreciated if they guide us in this hectic part of the test. Eerie Silence and others...
Cover following topics:

1. Basic Terms of Economics/Finance i.e real interest rate/nominal interest rate/operating cycle/business cycle/CAPM etc

2. Basic Terms of Introduction to business: About Company, proprietorship & Partnership

3. Basic Terms of Money & Banking: Negotiable instruments i.e bill of exchange/types of cheques etc

4. Basic Terms of Money & Capital Markets: Long Term & Short Term Securities/discounting/short selling/forward contracts etc

5. Just go through the Economic Survey of Pakistan 2014-2015 and concetrate on balance of payments chapter and growth chapters in it. You can view it from ministry of finance web or sbp's site.

You can cover Point 1 to 4 from google or specific books available in the market.
Salary for the post of OG-1 has been increased to 49k now.

in og-1 test, GK portion use to be the toughest one and you will hardly find gk questions in this portion :))
this portion comprises mostly banking/finance and eco. terms and a few question of current affairs.

you should go through economic survey of Pakistan and do memorize some key figures/terms/investment projects/policies/reforms.
I remember some questions from following topics:

agricultural reforms (of any particular year)
definition of money laundering
CPI
questions related to GDP/inflation/also related to banking frauds I guess

Best of Luck :)
"in og-1 test, GK portion use to be the toughest one and you will hardly find gk questions in this portion" You are right. It's rather a Subject portion (Economics & Finance) than GK portion

Economic survey of Pakistan is hardly helpful for this portion. Mostly Economics & Finance Terms are tested in this portion.
