Default GD and Interview experience of SBOTS

Dear All,

I appeared for the GD yesterday in Islamabad.Unfortunately i couldnt qualify for the PI. A total of 20(not exact) people appeared out of which only 4(2 guys and 2 gurls) could Qualify for the PI.
The topic of our group discussion was " Is borrowing from the IMF failure of the present government".
First,All the members were given 2 minutes to think and write on the topic, then all members of the group discussion were given 1 minute each to speak on the topic. After that the whole group was given 10 minutes to discuss the topic thoroughlly.

None of our group members could clear the GD.
The following points could help all those who plan to appear for the next GD and PI scheduled to be held at Lahore:

1.There is a misconception that from every group there is a certain number of person selected for the interview. This is absolutely wrong. None of our group member could clear the GD whereas 3 out of 5 persons from Group 1 cleared the GD.

2.The topic of the GD is not specific. I think they choose the topic randomly and there is no pre-planning for this purpose. Topic for each group will be different. Dont waste your time and energy searching for topics over the internet.

3. Remember the proverb "Your first impression is your last impression". Be Confident. and BE CONFIDENT.Thats the only rule to succeed.

4. Clear your thinking. Practice by writing on different topics and speaking in front of your peers or friends. If you are a good orator, you have a good chance to succeed.

5. Improve your English speaking skills.

6.As i have mentioned above, there is no predefined number of candidates those will be selected from a certain group. So cooperate with the group in your 10 minutes and dont negate any other member of the group rather work like a team. You dont have to defeat them in order to succeed.

7.Dont stumble.Try to remain calm and relax during the discussion. Focus on your breath .Clear your throat and dont vary the pitch of your voice during speaking.

Remember the first minute given to you to speak is when the Observers decide if you are eligible or not.So give your best shot and dont get nervous otherwise you will miss the opportunity.

Seating Arrangement:

We were Five members sitting in a semi- circle facing the panel. Our name plates were placed in front of us and we couldnt read each others name.

Note: The points mentioned above are purely based on my observation and you may disagree with me on any or all of the points.

Thank you.
