Hmm, some avid readers here.

Any one who has read Mark Twain and do you recommend it?

if you are a book lover and you donot read the work of Simon de bevor,it will be sheer injustice to hwith her intellectual capacity. One should must read her book Second Sex .it is one of the books popularly reviewed and read in context of feminist movements.this book also helps in gender studies subject for css. In fiction,Paulho Coelho and saadat hussain manto can prove very interesting.

I loved his couple of quotes, one was something like that,"If you are told that something is right and everyone says it is, it don't make it right".

Another one is, "I couldn't bear to think about it; and yet, somehow, I couldn't think about nothing else."

I am not big on fiction, except some chicklit (But, Don't tell ANYONE)

All the fiction, that I've read is what my brother will try to shove in my face, like, You just have to read this or else the sky will split, stars will fall e.t.c (NERD!)
So I suggest
1)The adventures of Huckleberry Finn
2)and the adventures of Tom Sawyer
3)Mark Twain's Helpful Hints for Good Living: A Handbook for the Damned Human Race
4) The Invalid's Story (it's a short story)
There was another that I can't quite recall... So maybe later!

Now off you go!

1984, Shahab Nama, Zaavia, Quiet I have read.
I am going to skip I am malala and watch her movie instead. I love her but just because of time constraint and already long list of books, I am going to side with her movie-unless you have watched/read both and advise against it.
I quickly searched other books because I am not familiar with them and Lean in, Outliers, Jinnah my brother and Born Standing seem very interesting. I am going to leave Seven Habits because it seems similar to former two books I mentioned. You have very interesting taste .
Well, First of all, DIGITAL HUG!!!!
And if we meet in the real life you're gonna have to say Nazish rocks! for my ringtone. Not everyone can recognize the real diamonds, You have magnificent eyes, my lady. Just kidding :P
Feel free to skip Malala's book for the movie. It is very well filmed and is based very closely on the book. I watched it last month.
And I was going to mention diary of Anne Frank too, but someone else got the chance before me! I never finished it. Because I'm a coward. Well, maybe someday.
It's Okay, if you skip seven habits. Self help gets boring after a while.

You deserve to be rocked here, since I was befuddled why this lady is using monuments and such a hum haws in her previous post.I don't like this fictious sort of novels as well as Malala ,I've rugged aspersion on the basis of her self designed champs of world laureate of literacy. But Id love to read some motivational but realistic stories.Since Malala has neither of it ,so redeemed unfit for my taste.

I searched "Second Sex" book and it has raving reviews on goodreads.com. I added it to my list. Thank you so much for recommending it.
Paulo makes me sleep. I read his book for an optional subject in university. I was so bored, had it not been for exam, would have thrown his book out of my house. Too too full of himself.
Manto on the other hand is amazing. He and Ismat, are my heroes.

@Nazish
I wish I had such brother. haha. Mine is more into travelling anyways sending back the digital hug with high five. Surely, if we meet, I would say "Nazish rocks!" for your ringtone. Movie it is then.
Are you on twitter Nazish? It'll be fun if you are.

I had to read it four times to understand what you meant in this long string of sentences. ha!
Well Malala is Malala, you either like her or hate her. I have long lost my appetite for debating over her and last thing we want is to have another thread turned into Malala love/hate debate.
There have been some great books recommended so far in this thread, choose away and recommend some too.

"Forty rules of love" by elif shafaq. "Talash" by Mumtaz Mufti. These books will make your perspective broad on religion. Problems of generational gap, problems of new generation are widely discussed in " Talash". And these books compel you to adopt a balanced approach towards religion and remove all biases against religion. In fact you get your answers about religion.

Wait till you see my twitter feed. haha
Twitter seems more accessible especially with a person like me who procrastinates over email replies and thinks they are too much of a formality.

I am going to sound like an erudite here but Mumtaz Mufti is the writer I spent my teenage with. Talash, Ali Pur ka ailee, Labaik and Alakh nagri. I also read Manto, Ismat, her brother Azeem Baig, Bano Qudsia, Ibn-e-Insha, Tarar and Mushtaq Ahmed Yousafi. I have yet to read Intizar Hussain and QuratulAin Haider. I am saving money for their books. Urdu books are so expensive.
But I don't think one needs to read them for css unless one is opting urdu as optional. The only book out of these that can in some way help is "Urdu ki akhri kitab" by Ibn-e-Insha and that too is mostly for understanding our culture and intolerance in our society. It takes some time to get what he is trying to say since it is humor at best but I guess even this can be left out.
40 rules of love seems interesting but it seems very mumbo jumbo sufi eat pray love type thing to me. Is my first impression wrong? you tell
