Query regarding attempts' limit.

I partly appeared in CE-2017. I know my attempt has been counted. Now, I heard that I am having only one attempt available. Or no, I still have two attempts remaining? Kindly have your say.

Even if you had applied for CSS and didnot appeared at all, they will still count it as an attempt (in which you were absent), in your case you definitely appeared but failed to through.

In short, Yes you are one down.

Everyone has 3 chances between age of 22-30 for CSS. If you apply for CSS but do not appear at all, they do not count your attempt. I had applied for CE-16 but did not appear not even in single paper. I heard different opinions from different people at that time so what I did was that I wrote an email directly to FPSC. They replied me. They said if a candidate applies and do not appear at all we do not count their chance.

As far as your situation is concerned you said you have partly appeared. So, your chance was counted even if you have appeared in 1 paper. You have two chances left according to current rules depending upon your age. If you are gonna turn 30 on or after 1st January 2019 you have 2 chances left. If you are gonna turn 30 before that, than you have only 1 chance left.

I know that but I am worried about something 'new policy' as they said, there will be no more three attempts but every aspirant will have two attempts after CE-2017. I don't know how much veracity it carries, maybe a propaganda but it certainly has left me puzzled and cursing myself -- a kind of -- for being appeared -- if it's true, God forbid. Have anyone heard of this two attempts policy by FPSC. It may not apply to me, but still I am 'preshan' about it. Kindly mujhe batay ke maine kuch ghalat suna hai. Jazak'Allah!

If you "don't appear at all", then it doesn't count.
