Default Ten Myths of CSS Exam.

1. It can only be attempted by highly educated or extra-ordinary candidates
(it is very untrue since many graduates with just 70% have cleared this exam)

2. It needs whole year to prep (another false perception since if you are sharp in your selection, 6 months are well enough for preparation)

3. Selection of Optional Subjects is crucial to some students ( one of the easiest but toughest task for majority of the people, with proper consultation, it can be solved but first they must discover their true interest)

4. Fear of attempting the 1st try out of 3 (Don’t know why people don’t give it a FIRST TRY to sit in CSS exams to really understand the pattern, methodology, environment and strategy)

5. No management in studies (majority of candidates do get fail because of the lack of studying methods they adopt, they prefer to skim relevant info which may not seem to be important to them)

6. Believing CSS as a nightmare! (one of major drawback behind the failure, it kills all your optimism and sparking power for this competition)

7. Irrelevant practices of Essay Writing (Writing an essay is not a big task but to organize it in effective way is the key requirement)

8. depending on past papers (one should cover and understand the whole subject than to be completely dependent on past papers)

9. Stammering difficult vocabulary ( there is no such requirement of CSS to present difficult words in your sentences, it may also be the cause of deduction of marks, perfect grammar usage with daily use vocab is far enough!)

10. Spelling and punctuation errs (due to the short SMS typing issue, many candidates are suffering from this myth, the best solution is to always spells English Words correctly on any medium)

Nice but i disagree with 4 ... it is waste of attempt to sit in exam just to get environment and strategy. i beleive if you are sitting in exam...sit to achieve

Number 3 is not a myth, subject selection is crucial. And its not one of the easiest but toughest task but a tricky one. Candidates have to consider both scoring trend and their interests.

I totally agree with you that one should not blindly waste their attempt but one can do that if he or she does not really have any other choice. Like before 2017 attempt, I turned 27 and I had all 3 chances. I had only two months left to prepare before exam. Attempt was a waste whether attempted by me or not. So, I gave it a shot. I am expecting good marks in almost all subjects especially in compulsory subjects. There is only just one optional object which I am really afraid about that I am not going to pass it as I was ill prepared for that and I was my bad choice. Surprisingly, I have learnt a lot not to mention two crash revisions of entire course. Reviewing past paper after exam is a thing but actually attempting them in exam was an other thing. I have gone through the whole process. I have got knowledge about what to do and what not to do. Seniors have said right CSS is the exam of nerves and now I am preparing with my full strength for coming attempt.

Regards,
Totally agree. It is the most important choice a CSS aspirant make. I have committed CSS suicide by choosing 1 optional subject wrong and this is the only subject I am not sure I will pass or not.

It's not just for getting environment when we haven't yet prepared for exams but the thing being supposed is the fear that many of the students don't appear just because of fear of failing.
One who has prepared well and thinks that he may succeed but then feels fear of failing must appear to get environmemt even though he fails in his first attempt but i agree when said that one shouldn't appear when he is not prepapred well.

(Sorry for my bad English as i write English following Arabic way of talking because i kept speaking Arabic for years and my English talking way merged with Arabic style )

Regards,
I am going for "Arabic" and "islamic history & culture" and as many of suniors say that both these two are not scoring subjects but i am ignoring their suggestion because of my interest and based knowledge.
should i review my subject selection once more or it's better not to pay heed on their suggestion when i think that i am good at these two subjects?
It's my first attempt so i may be wrong in insisting on my interest. What would be better for me? :o

I have been out of touch with CSS since past few years, so I have no idea about the scoring trends these days. 4,5 years back Islamic History used to be a good scoring subject. So please Check the scores of past 2,3 years before making final selection.

Regards,
