absolutely agreed with your arguments, full of wisdom and logic. i myself could not select in css but i am not feeling anything the brother has said. i accepted my failure as i am educated from an ordinary govt school, belong to a poor agricultural family and have illiterate parents, but i feel pride that, at least i tried, i got the platform available equally for all. so one should not feel bad like him. work hard, believe in yourselves and know your aim, i hope everyone will have understood my point of view

4- Elite also struggle to make their way
5- U have struggled in this system and achieved..

Ok...so lets review...Firstly,do you hear yourself when you say these things?
When i say our society is unjust and it will remain so! I do not make things up!All of my points regarding this exam and aristocracy is supported by theories of Karl Marx,Jurgen habermas,John rawls,Daniel Khaneman and steven levitt.I would love to elaborate each and every point but i presume that you must have preliminary knowledge of the great philosophical works.

secondly,personal attacks shows lack courage to carry on a fruitful discussion.when we do not have enough theoretical evidence we naturally tend to change the course of discussion.

I respect your opinion.We can disagree on so many levels but the truth is that we live in an unjust society.You need hope to live for! in fact eveyone need a hope to live but in the end we subconsciously know that there lies infinity of nothingness.I do not care about the system.I care about those innocent souls who put their life efforts into this exam and are left with nothing.
Now you might say that CSS enables one to clear other exams like lecturer or any other 16 scale clerk or something.?Huhh...really?You burnt your prime youth for monthly 400 dollars 9 to 5 job?
Believe me i can tell you with honesty that this exam is highly exaggerated.We do not have strong corporate system or else no one would have spit on this exam.This is our colonial mentality which glamourises these posts.
Well brother, I will try to keep it short and wont go into long discussion like last time explaining, as at the end of the day I will have my views and you will have yours. We both necessarily dont have to agree with each others.

Again brother, the "poor souls" are mature enough and they know whatever they are investing their time into is worth it or not, be it CSS or no matter what. CSS might be crap to you but not for them, if someone think like you they should not appear in CSS, no one is forcing them. Those who find meaning in doing something should go for it, it can be anything. My point is you cant discourage someone because you think something is crap for you.

Haha first thing, no I wont say that CSS enable you to clear other exam. Secondly, what do you think is the salary of a CSP ? Lol, its not much. Its not all about money, everyone assign different reasons and meanings of doing something, it can be anything not just CSS. What do you think people are mad to join army and risk their life, stay away from families for meagre salary ? Dont start with stuff like generals and colonals have xxx kind of perks and priviliges, every general and colonel were once a 2nd LT and Captain and it takes them 35+ years to be a general, if they are lucky enough as majority dont move beyond Major or Colonel. And ask someone what is the salary of a Captain and what are his perks, you will get your answer. Thirdly, I agree with your statement about lack of corporate sector but people still join civil services and army in countries where there is strong corporate sector. You can find dosens of examples here in Pakistan, people with high qualification from prestigious foreign universities and successful higly paid careers abroad have left everything and came here and became CSP, what for ? a meager 56000 salary ? No, as I said, everyone have their own reasons.

I said and explained what I believed in, so end of discussion from my side. Everyone at this platform can read what you said and what I have said, they can decide for themselves, that is, to be optimistic or quit. And one final thing, if you think I made a personal attack on you, I am sorry that you think that way. It was not the case.

Regards, and apologies again if I said something to offend anyone.

bro i can only sympathize with you because this exam is so overrated and unpredictable that it affects your whole life.Many top notch brains become useless due to their obsession with this exam.Our people struggle for years and in the end are left with nothing but feeling of loss and inferiority complex.

1)All of us know that Pakistani examiners check papers.
2)All of us know that we have ''sifarish'' culture in our country
3)All of us know that our education system is crap
4)All of us know that big brats like judges and Generals have say in big postings
5)A ''taat'' school student can't be equal to alumni of Aitchison.
6)CSS is not exam of brains but meomry.

i have so many points to talk about but i am busy right now.
I am NoT discouraging YOU guys.I want you to open your eyes and consider it as secondary choice and do not attach so much hopes to this exam
world is full of opportunities.Find better ways.You people are full of energy and vigor the sky is your limit..but remember the words of Rudyard kipling

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same

i want you people to be happy with yourself.

One day, you and everyone you love will die. And beyond a small group of people for an extremely brief period of time, little of what you say or do will ever matter. This is the Uncomfortable Truth of life. And everything you think or do is but an elaborate avoidance of it. We are inconsequential cosmic dust, bumping and milling about on a tiny blue speck. We imagine our own importance. We invent our purpose—we are nothing.....Mark Manson

I endorse your point of view and fully agree with you. You have explained harsh realities and facts in an elaborate and an excellent manner. It is definitely a test of memory, no wonder, doctors, who are adept in memorizing difficult names of disease, conditions and body parts, constitute a large chunk of CSS qualifiers every year. Anyone, who objects the fact that the CSS is immune from nepotism and corruption should just view the pattern of interview marks given to some qualifiers. I don't know how can a candidate with hardly one year of professional experience be given more than 220 marks in the interview? Is this also a coincidence that every year more than 20 to 30 sons and daughters of Civil Servants are allocated in prestigious services? Those who still believe in the integrity of the CSS examination should just go through today's list of the candidates selected on the armed services quota; one can easily spot some familiar surnames. The saga regarding leak of CSS papers this year was swiftly hushed up with no outcomes of the so called investigations. Off course, I do not believe that the transparency of the CSS exam has been fully tarnished but nepotism, corruption and favoritism have massively increased competition for the deserving and marginalized lot. The transparency of this exam has been put t question; so long meritocracy.
