I have decided I want to go into DMG group. It is my intention to score well enough to be able to do so. I have a few questions in this regard. First as a candidate appearing from Karachi, what score will I need to attain. Second, what are the best materials that I can possibly get to help me prepare for my CSS examinations. Third, how long is the training. I have heard it is 2 years. Fourth, will I be able to attain a posting in Karachi for my first posting.

Learn to use this forum on your own. The highest competition is amongst GB and Islamabad. Then Urban areas are high on the list. So atleast 650+ in exams and 200+ in interview. The best material is your own notes, your own past paper analysis and ofcourse this goldmine of a website you are reading this on. Yes, nearly 2 year of Common training program and Special training program combined. No, 1st posting is outside your home province. Get high enough on the merit ladder and you might get the 'choice' of choosing the province you want as your 1st posting. Posted below are some links which might answer your queries
