Csp vs other govt job
 

Hi everyone, hope the text finds you well. I want your opinion on a question. If someone is working in govt sector at bps 18 in education department while his age is 28. It will be a wiser decision to attempt css for grade 17.!

It all depends on what he wants to get when he decides to attempt css for grade 17 and leave govt sector at bps 18.

I failed my 2nd attempt miserably. Should I focus on CSS and give my last attempt (three years already seems being wasted and this would be my forth year) or further advance my freelance career which is generating 4-5 lac per month? Can I earn more than that without doing side business/corruption after getting allocated? Is CSS a hype?

Don't expect you will get the same 4-5 lac in government sector. CSP officer have around 80k salary in bs 17 and around 130 in bs 18.

If your aim is to make money then Civil Service is a poor choice (considering you don't want to be involved in corruption). Civil service is about serving the people of Pakistan. This job is suitable for those who don't care much about money.

CSS (especially the PSP and PAS group) grade 17 is much powerful than any other government job (even normal 19 grade). In the education department, you will likely retire in grade 19, but in CSS you will probably reach grade 22. CSS will be a hectic 24/7 job but from the very start, you will have the authority and power to help people at the grassroots level. If your aim is to serve the people of Pakistan then go ahead, but if you want a comfortable high-paying job then it's not for you.
