Dear All,

This is in reference to the advertisement published in the Newspapers on July 18, 2011 wherein applications for the CSS Exams to be held from February 25, 2012 were being invited. I am interested in appearing for these exams and researched the internet extensively for relevant information. The Rules and Regulations (primarily applicable to previous exam sessions) that i found online indicated that the examination session of 2012 will be the last one that i will be eligible for due to my age. It is for this reason that i want to make sure that everything goes perfect and that I manage to apply and sit for the exams in due time.

Unfortunately, neither my online research nor the advertisement published in the newspaper helped me when I was trying to infer what the timeline for submitting such applications was. Furthermore, I am still not very clear on the complete application procedure. I reviewed a handful of online forums and participated in various discussion threads that had been initiated by other forum members to address these concerns as well. However, most of the respondents were first time applicants themselves and had very vague answers to my queries. I was elated to find an email address of the Commission and decided to ask someone who knew exactly how things worked. However, the email keeps bounding back

I have the following concerns that I am eager to get addressed:

1. Has the Application deadline been decided and if so when does the commission start taking applications for the CSS 2012 Exams?

2. How does a candidate apply to sit for the upcoming examination session?

3. How long does it take for an applicant to qualify after the exams have been taken? In simpler words, for a candidate who takes the exams in 2012, what is a tentative date for him/her to be a CSS Officer? (I am somewhat uncertain about this because I was reading through the Commission's Newsletter: 16th Issue relating to the 1st quarter of the Calender Year 2011 and noticed that Announcement of final result of CE-2010 was still due.

4. Does the Commission recommend any Coaching Institution and/or Academy for preparing for these exams in Lahore?

1 - reception of application will strt from 1 december n will close on 31st december.

2- u can download form from FPSC site or can take it from commission's office after submitting fee.

3- after ging exam u have to wait 6 to 8 mnths for result then u have to wait 3 to 4 mnths for appearing in interview(iv u have cleared the written portion)..then final list then training program then allocation

4- commision will not recomnd any academy or instituition.

Thanx for the the very quick and prompt response...you comprehensive reply has taken care of most my concerns...just to clarify...hypothetically if one clears the written portion of the exam and makes it into the section of a people that will be recruited, then how long does it take before one is actually allocated...from what i have gathered so far it takes a little more than 2.5 years...is that correct....

any suggestions on a good place in lahore to prep...an academy/institution that offers to teach post office hours???
