@M Awan

Thanks for the info brother. But ok IoBM is one of the leading university of Pakistan so I can get that letter. But how will I prove that my degree is equal to first division or second division or whatever? Some Jobs (eg NAB) ask for first division only

Yes you can get accreditation letter for IoBM easily.

First division usually start from 60% marks, and if your CGPA is somewhat equivalent/more thn 60% marks thn you are eligible for that job. However, its a bit difficult to prove that it is first or second division because the regulatory body of higher education in Pakistan i.e HEC do not give any such letter.

neuschwanstein is right, HEC only issues an equivalence letter stating that so and so degree held by so and so country is equivalent to so and so number of years. They dont touch grading things, nor FPSC touch the grading things. They just take a simple thing that the degree held by foreign university is roughly equal to second division held by some Pakistani universities (which are following the division system instead of CGPA system). Further, FPSC does not take grades of each subject/module rather they take the overall performance in that degree programme.

So far as degrees held by Pakistani private universities (e.g. IoBM Karachi) are concerned, the FPSC asks the candidate to attach an accreditation letter by HEC stating that so and so university/institute is accredited/recognized by the HEC and its degrees are acceptable.

Thanks a lot, have got some sort of comfort . Actually HEC replied my each query very fast and efficently but I am still waiting reply from FPSC . I think its still better to have some kind of official confirmation from FPSC.
@ M T Awan, Brother how authentic is your information ? Can you provide some kind of written from FPSC ?

Salam Brother Muhammad T Awan

Do I need membership of PEC ( Pakistan Engineering Council) to apply for CSS ? As my equivalence letter says " For Engineering related jobs ´membership of PEC is mandatory".
As CSS jobs are not "Engineering" related therefore I believe that FPSC will not ask for it ?
