Why CSS?

AOA genius minds
Since i am in the business of CSS one thing stuck my mind that y should one go CSS

while just after getting masters degree one can acquire the post of AM and SPS 08 and in reasonable period of time one can move to SPS-11

Are there any special privileges that are given to CSS, what are they?

and what should be chosen between a job on CSS basis and a job on CA basis?

My questions may seem funny to you people
but i really wanna get answers to these questions froms knowledgeable persons

I am looking forward and waiting for the guidance from you people

and would be really thankful to you people

Regards
Sara

many people ask me that CSS is not that much important as compare to SBP, apex courts and different private firms jobs. in addition, the salaries of CSP is meager and many people after qualifying CSS realize that they had done a kind of mistake. however, i am of the different view. i did MBA and have been offered different kinds of good job, but i refused just because of the CSS. For one thing, CSS is not a matter of money rather a honor, fame, prestige, perk and privileges which a common officer does not have. After doing it, you may enjoy the opportunity of formulating the basic structure of Pakistani system. moreover, you can change it, adulterate it as per the requirement or suitability of the country. further, the most important benefit of the CSS is that you learn many things during your preparation which a common graduate may never have.
Don,t compare CSS with other jobs, because it is not mere a job but a honor as well.

[QUOTE=attitudegirl;470956]Thanx Faisal for your response

these are some perks and privileges of some groups. well some of the point i have added while the others are by someone who compared different groups.
FSP: handsome salary, opportunity to study abroad for you and your offspring. opportunity of world tour. medical facilities and much more.
FSP CSP officer starting salary is probably 60k to 80k. whereas, starting salary of other groups are around 26k.

PAAS: officer does not get any official car or residence whereas same goes true for IRS officers posted in big cities like Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi and Lahore. However IRS officers posted in smaller Tax offices (smaller cities) they do get official car and residence even on the day of reporting (but in smaller stations like Gujranwala, Sargodha etc). In grade 17 of both services one can not get any official "Naukar chakar". As IRS is the backbone for revenue generation, I think the perks and privileges may be enhanced for this group.

Authority in society: PAAS officers have strong interaction with government officers/departments due to audit and do enjoy a level of authority. However IRS officers enjoy the same they have to deal with Income tax, Sales tax and Excise Duties. But their area of influence are different.

Exposure & interaction: PAAS officers have interaction with government officials however IRS have interaction with top class business men, government and non government salaries people, interaction with police for enforcement purposes.

Educational opportunities IRS get scholarships easily after serving for some years. If someone wants to excel in his higher education, IRS is the place for him. Scholarships are also available for all other groups, however less than IRS.

DMG: you can develop a social network, public relations, know to how about dignitaries and their company, power, authority etc.
same is the case with other groups.
