Salam to all. I hope everyone will be prospering in its field. Now a day I’m confronting a serious issue. My DOB is January 01,1986 and I’m serving in food department for about two years. Hence my age limit for CSS is 30 years. (Because of two years age relaxation for Govt. employees) Last date for CE-2013 is December 31, 2012. If the last date for CSS remains December 31, for upcoming years, then my chances to appear for CSS will be as follows:
CE-2013 (as my age will be 26 years, 11 months and 30 days)
CE-2014(as my age will be 27 years, 11 months and 30 days)
CE-2015(as my age will be 28 years, 11 months and 30 days)
CE-2016(as my age will be 29 years, 11 months and 30 days)
But if the last date changes and it becomes January 01, then my chances to appear for CSS will be as follows:
CE-2013 (as my age will be 27 years, 00 months and 00 days)
CE-2014(as my age will be 28 years, 00 months and 00 days)
CE-2015(as my age will be 29 years, 00 months and 00 days)
[According to some of my friends, I will not be eligible for CE-2016 because I will be of exactly 30 years old and for CSS, age should be less than 30 years. But some of them say that I will be eligible as I’m not exceeding 30 years. As I myself is not clear about this rule, hence I’m not considering CE-2016.]
Now the million dolor question: will the last date remain December 31 for upcoming competitive exams? If so, then I’m not going to appear in CE-2013 because my preparation is not good enough. And if don’t, then I’m going to appear in CE-2013 because “chance waste to waisy ho rha hai, tu kyon na attempt kr k waste kiya jay”
Now please do tell me that last date will be either December 31, or January 01 for upcoming competitive exams? ( I wanna ask is there any notification that Last date will remain December 31?)
It’s a serious issue and I will be pleased if Moderators or Super Moderators answer me because first time in life I’m in a great fix and under sever tension. Please post your answers as soon as possible because if I’m going to appear in CE-2013, then I will have to apply for departmental permission certificate and it takes time. Advance thanks to all for consideration.

For CE 2013, it is clearly mentioned that [B][COLOR="Sienna"]a candidate born on[/COLOR] or before 31st December 1984 and on or after 2nd January, 1992 will not be eligible for CSS 2013[/B].
In your case, for CE 2016, your age will be 29 years, 11 months, and 30 days on 31st December 2012. So you will be eligible for CE 2016.

Yes i do read, which you're mentioning, but my question still remains unsolved that is there any notification that last date will be December 31, for upcoming years? I'm afraid that FPSC may alter its policy, and my chance will be vanished because last date for CE 2010 & 2011 was Jan. 01.

It can only be cleared by FPSC.

As already said by Arain, cut off date (31st December or 1st January) can only be decided/changed/modified by the FPSC. However, for this year they have not changed this date and for next year, and at this point of time the issue of date is not under consideration in FPSC, so nobody even in FPSC can say anything specifically.

You may like to make up your mind and take decision whatever seems okay to you, either you are going to attempt this year or next year.
