Smile Why Give The CSS Exam?

Okay, so I have heard that from my father that one should give CSS after MBBS. Apparently it is a competitive exam.. but what exactly does clearing it mean for me and my future?
Doctors who give the CSS exam.. what do they get after clearing it..? Please tell me as I can not find answer to this question online.
Also.. is Federal Public Commission Exam as separate exam... or just another name for CSS?
Thank you!

Also, can a person do CSS and FCPS as well? Does one affect the other?

After clearing CSS one gets job in BS-17. There are 12 occupational groups in which one gets allocated.

There is no specific link between CSS and medical profession. Any degree (14 years of education) makes one eligible for CSS be they doctors, engineers or any other professionals or simple B.A.

As far as i know Federal Public Service Commission conducts exams in two categories:
1. General Recruitment
2. Competitive Examination
All exams other than competitive examination are conducted under the category of General Recruitment.

Yes, one can appear in both the categories depending upon eligibility and none affects the other.

Regards!

You will have to fill the preference form after passing the written exam and before interview.
PSP - Police Service of Pakistan
OMG- Office Management Group
DMG- District Management Group

PSP and DMG are the highly preferred groups and one has to be among top position holders to have allocation in these.
For detailed information visit this link:

This link contains details about the special training regarding these groups as well as the service details of each group.
Wish you luck!
