Associates Degree and CSS
 

Assalam-o-alikum all, :D

I am Heer Khan from Karachi and currently enrolled in 2nd year(about to end) of B.B.A. As per the recent(a few years back) announcement by HEC, a new degree was recognised and approved, that is, Associates to be given and completed after 14 years of education(2 years of bachelors) and is equivalent to B.Com, B.A, BSc etc. The only difference being that the associate degree can be in any random subject a bachelors degree is awarded in (for example 2 years of B.B.A = Associates in B.A). Though officially approved, the pattern has NOT yet been followed by many private universities, but luckily the university I am enrolled in, awards associate degree.

The problem is that I am currently enrolled in a bachelors program and it will really be a hassle(in terms of courses and conditions) to transfer to associates program and get a degree and then continue my B.B.A(which I do not intend to leave in between), the easier way out is to get my transcript of the 21 courses(that are offered in Associate's degree which is equivalent to 14 years of education and the student is eligible to take admission in any M.A. program or CSS or do whatever he can do with any equivalent B.A, B.Com or BSc degree).

What I want to ask here, is that, instead of getting associate's degree(which is going to be a big hassle and i will miss the deadlines and what not :oo) can I apply to take the CSS exam by sending my transcript of 21 courses(equivalent to associate's degree = 14 years of education) as the document required to prove a bachelors(2 years) education?

As far as I know you may have to submit your sanad with transcript without which you may not take upcoming CSS examination. If you can lay your hands on Sanad coupled with transcript then there is nothing to worry about. Regards.

Sanad?

Sanad that is usually issued after two years of passing the examination. You may have it before the time from the university concerned by paying additional fee.

You NEED to have a bachelor's degree! If your associate degree is equivalent to bachelor's degree(which you have claimed it is) then you can give the exam. You have to take the hassle because unless you have completed your bachelor's and only have a transcript of 21 courses, they won't entertain your application. You can also submit your degree later. For more info you can call FPSC and talk to their representative. They are co-operative
