Study Plan for CSS Preparation in 8 Months

Hello Senior and Experienced Guys!

I just have decided to appear in CSS 2015. I am thinking to opt following subjects:

1. Political Science
2. Public Administration
3. Indo Pak History
4. International Law

I have about 8 months to prepare and I think, I have to utilize these 8 months very smartly. Otherwise I am not going clear it.

Two thing more I would like to tell you guys about myself that I don't have command over English language. I can speak fluently but my writing skills are not good. I can write short and correct sentences but have not written essays yet. (My father says your level of English language is equal to level of English of matric class student. You haven't raised your level---By the way, my father passed exam of Sindh Public Service Commission and got letter to join as SECTION OFFICER). And other thing is that I have my done graduation in telecommunication engineering so I have no idea about subjects mentioned above.

My questions are as follows.

Q1: There are 10 subjects (6 compulsory and 4 optional) so how should I start preparing? I don't have much time. I was thinking to cover one subject in one month but I do not have 10 months. Please help me in planning.

Q2: What you guys think about my subject combination?

Q3: In how many days one can cover each subject?

Well I am in same boat. just 8 months are left and have to complete 12 subjects oh my God. whatever you had better replace indo-pak with Islamic History and Culture. perfect practice makes man perfect. English won't give you hard time. just do practice. it is one of the easiest subjects of CSS make sure I am talking about English composition paper. Make a plan wisely. 200 marks subjects should be given 25 days and 100 marks subjects 15 days. Do study 15hours per day. Surely you are very close to success . do accept reality but be optimistic which is key to success. make sure only hard work can lead you to success.
wish you very good luck.
may you get what you deserve because first deserve then desire.

do remember me in your prayers.

All aspirants are left with 8months only.

Thank You.

according to my view indo-pak history is best coz its paper 2 is related to pak affair. in this way we can prepare both subjects. Only paper 1 remain which we can prepare easily

Ans 1 : You can cover two subjects at a time i.e 2 subjects side by side . By seeing your subjects , one can say it easily that you would have to make a tight schedule .But , you would have to focus mainly on English , specially English essay . Write at least 2,3 pages daily ,from now on , and get it checked by posting here or by any good English teacher . According to my experience , essay is the most difficult paper , so , for it you would have to work hard i.e read dawn daily , practice short essays and then long ones . It is a very difficult task to write an essay of 2500 to 3000 words in first paper of C.S.S . If you will not practice now , definitely , you would be seeing a lot of pressure in first paper .

Ans 2 : Subject combination !! . Well , if you are asking in terms of syllabus , then subjects are lengthy and course contents are vast . For history , i must say , that revise it at least two times . In papers you would not have time to revise any subject easily ,specially history . So , do it now .

Ans 3 : It depends on the subject , and the manner in which you will be going to cover them . Normally , a subject of 100 marks can be covered in 2 weeks and a subject of 200 in 4 weeks . But , still it depends on one's interest and aptitude .

Best of luck ,

Ali .

It depends on every one's potential that how much time a person would have to give daily . You should know yours :) . But , at least for me i.e what i have faced in papers , the main thing is to study subject once in such a way that no revision would be required . On the other side , revise at least two times; to be at a safe side. But still these things depends on one's potential aptitude and memory ;etc . :)
