passing marks in compulsory subjects

What is the criteria of passing marks in general knowledge subjects? Either one have to get 40 marks in each portion ofGK like GK-1, GK-2 and GK-3 or overall 40% marks are required to pass general knowledge portion of compulsory subjects?
